While taking ED 505, I was placed in a group with several of my other classmates in order to create a website tailored to teaching students how to use the internet safely and securely. This projected helped me while teaching my own students about theme and characterization. Before we got started, I showed my students the video on our website about the core rules of netiquette. I also reviewed equitable digital access with the class, as well as internet safety. Because our school is a bring your own device school, the students already knew our technology policy. Lastly, we have already talked about plagiarism in class, but the website provided great tools on teaching the students how to cite properly. Since we are currently working on a huge digital website project, this particular piece helped my students to know how to properly give credit to publishers and authors.
